Hello everyone,
I use DG7.1 on net.VB.
Is it possible to get format support for AutoCad files?
I read in the documentation of DGKC that this is not available in the standard version and i have to contact you.
In my written application i get message
"Von meinem iPhone gesendet".
Thank you in advance
AutoCad formats
Re: AutoCad formats
Hello Joel
Generally, it is available, but expensive. The main problem is in the cost of the third-party components from Open Design Alliance.
A while ago we have integrated ODA components, but we did not have enough customers who needed it to justify the annual license fees. Few people say ODA is hypocritical (they call themselves non-profit) and greedy.
A while ago they used to have an option for individuals at like $200 pa. I do not see it now. This was the option we meant in our docs. We could ask the user to have the libraries and load them if they are present.
If you really need it, we can re-activate it. The cost would be around 3,000 USD. If you have a project for us, we could do it little cheaper.
If it is not critical, I recommend using other formats. Step or Brep are the best currently for parametric modelling. I believe AutoCAD formats are going away gradually.
Kind regards
Gerard

Re: AutoCad formats
Thank you for your feedback.
In fact, I also find 3000USD too expensive.
I'm trying to bypass the AutoCad files.
Thank you very much.
